Hey guys! So I wanted to share some super fun and simple decor options for your 4th of July party!
Last summer, I had a goal to make Pinterest inspired Americana decor that could not only be used for the 4th, but Memorial Day as well! 🙂
I’m going to show you my simple statements that were eye catching and received LOTS of compliments!
First up is this AMAZING DIY American flag that I made after researching several different Pinterest ideas.
I used red fabric, white lace, white fabric, denim, and white buttons to create this look.
The red and white strips followed true to the American flag for the 13 stripes along with the red stripes being on both ends of the flag. I also strategically placed the white buttons on the fabric, but I used a hot glue gun to save time instead of sewing. 😉
I used a wooden dowel to hot glue the fabric, ribbon, and denim onto the front. I also used a string of pom-poms to cover the top of the wooden dowel so exposure of the stripes would be hidden on the top.
We LOVED using this DIY American flag as a backdrop for our 4th of July photos!
Plus, how CUTE is my old lady boxer?
Next up is our 4th of July chalkboard sign!
We had recently painted our shed to look like a barn and it made the PERFECT back drop to hang our DIY American flag on. I designed the chalkboard to be a simple “Happy 4th of July” sign so that it could be another prop in our photos with family and friends.
Chalkboard signs are an easy way to catch the eye of your guests at any party!
As a consistent hostess for most of our families parties, I always enjoy creating a chalkboard sign for the front door. I also enjoy spending time making small fabric banners to go on the easels as well. A welcome sign that introduces the theme for the party is always a MUST!
This fabric banner was made out of leftover fabric from several other projects including the DIY American flag and classroom projects. Fabric banners on easels, mantels, and more make a simple statement without the stress! Simply cut your fabric to your desired length and attach on some twine, BOOM! DONE!
These chalkboard easels have been so USEFUL! We bought these chalkboard signs for our wedding day and have used them consistently ever since! We have had family and friends borrow the easels to use themselves, or have even asked me to design the board for them! So fun to see other people finding joy in the creativity of the chalkboards. 🙂

For a simple and cheap idea to jazz up your 4th of July party simply place American flags anywhere and everywhere!
My husband and I are OBSESSED with WHITE flowers in our front yard and backyard and we mostly use blue flower pots for all of our decorating, this allows the American flags to blend in nicely without any colors clashing.
And finally, how can any party not end with dessert?
I created pretzel rods with candy melts to create the American flag design along with making a homemade Chex mix drizzled with the same candy melt colors. My wonderful mom made a homemade no bake cheesecake and designed the blueberries and raspberries on top for a fun design. Simply add some red, white, and blue M&M’s and Hershey’s for a final option!
I hope ya’ll enjoyed these fun and inspiring decor and hosting ideas to make your 4th of July memorable and ready for ANY picture opportunity!
